The history of the Hartenfels company reaches back until its founding year in 1810.
Around 1900 the company was named Gustav Jakobitz for a
while, making vinegar and cider in addition to
spirits. Also, raw spirits were stored here and there was a fruit press.
As of 1951, the company had been renamed Konsum Spirituosenfabrik Torgau, later it adopted the name Konsumbetrieb Hartenfels.
Since 1997 Spirituosen GmbH Hartenfels Torgau has been a subsidiary of Mecklenburger Spirituosenfabrik G. Winkelhausen GmbH
